Carl “Chub” “Chubediah” Leroy Enyeart, 61, of Newville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born Monday, July 17, 1961 in Carlisle to the late Charles F. and Ruth V. (Gilbert) Enyeart.
Chub graduated from Big Spring High School in 1979 and worked for the Masland and later Leer Corporations as a fork lift operator. He taught himself how to play the guitar at the age of 32 and never stopped playing—music was his life. He loved every aspect of music from strumming the strings to singing and song writing. He also enjoyed teaching and mentoring young musicians. Chub was right at home singing on stage or playing his guitar for friends by a campfire. His unique sound, musical spirit and soul will be remembered forever. He was an amazing artist and a collector of “everything.” To know him was to love him, from the beaches to the mountains to the North Mountain Inn, Chub was always ready for a GOOD TIME!
He is survived by three sisters, Shirley Spahr of Newville, Sally Morton and husband Dave of Newville, Betty Barclay of Carlisle; two brothers, Harry Enyeart and wife Brenda of Newville, William Enyeart and wife LaDawn of York Springs; and numerous other loving family members. He was predeceased by two sisters, Janet Ross and Kathryn Enyeart; one brother, Gary Enyeart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3rd at Noon at Newville First Church of God, 475 Shippensburg Road, Newville, PA 17241 with Pastor Wayne Good officiating. Private burial will follow in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10AM until time of the service at the church. Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
