David “Dave” Dohner, passed peacefully September 26, 2022 at the age of 65 at his home with his loving wife of 45 years. Family and friends were shown what it means to live Faithfully in spite of a tough, 13 month battle with brain cancer.
Dave is survived by his wife, Miriam (Mim) and their children: James and Justine, Dwayne and Rachel, Aaron, and Kim (Miller) and Bryan, along with their nine grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Hannah, Megan, Curtis, Lindsey, Lauren, Travis, Isaiah, Abby, and Nyla.
God, family, John Deere tractors, and serving others were Dave’s passions and brought joy to his days. The thing he dreamed of most for the retirement he never reached was helping his children with their house projects. After his initial brain surgery, he prayed for others in order to reduce his blood pressure which was common when he faced anxiety due to the brain cancer. Dave said that it was a gift that he could still give even as his body failed him. He was one of the most selfless people and was loved by many.
A viewing is scheduled at 9 am on October 7, 2022 at Risser’s Mennonite Church followed by a funeral service at 11 am. A meal will follow at Chiques Church.
