Patricia S. (Smith) Martin, 92, of Annville, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Sunday, December 4, 2022. She was born to the late Eugene and Mary (Knoll) Smith. She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Robert S. Martin.
Patricia enjoyed reading and writing children’s stories in her spare time in addition to watching the news. She was a 1948 graduate of Palmyra Highschool after she attended Central PA Business College. A graduate of Harrisburg Institute of Medical Arts, graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature. Patricia was a medical secretary to Dr. Samuel Hartman, Palmyra and a secretary to the Director of Labor Relations, and was also medical secretary to the Plant Physician at Hershey Chocolate Corp. She was part-time “Gal Friday” for her husband, Dr. Robert S. Martin, in his dental office and was also Temple University Dental Wives secretary, Philadelphia. Patricia was also president of the women’s auxiliary to the PA dental society of Chester and Delaware counties, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lebanon. Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children: Robert S. Martin, Jr., and Scott S. Martin; grandchildren, Jonathan Martin and wife Jessica, Katie M. Martin, and Rachel N. Martin; great-grandchildren; Jon Lawrence Martin, Joel Martin, Juliana Martin, and Jerimiah Martin; and sister, Barbara Minnich
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 11 AM at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Bishop Nathan Johnson officiating. A time of viewing will be held from 10 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to support The Stine TLC Clinic, which provided specialized care and advocacy for children who have been victims of abuse.
